Earl Charles Innes, 75, of Pekin, passed away at 11:32 am Friday, May 15, 2020 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born July 15, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA to John Innes Jr. and Vernice (Fairweather) Innes. He married Rebecca “Becky” Lamie in Peoria, IL on July 25, 1970. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Jon (Misty) Innes of Riverton; one daughter, Joy (Mike) Tiffany of Jacksonville; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; one brother, Terrence “Terry” (Judy) Innes of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister, Marleen VonGoeler of Plymouth, MA; and one niece, Elaine (Roger) Kasky of East Peoria.
Earl graduated from Central High School in Peoria. He worked at Caterpiller Inc. as an inspector and EMT before retiring in 1996 after 32 years of service. He also volunteered at Forman Ambulance Service in Manito as an EMT.
Upon his retirement from Caterpillar in 1996 he stayed busy helping his friends and family with various handyman projects. He was also a very active member of GA.
He became a member of the First Christian Church in Pekin where he served on the Property Committee. He also enjoyed golfing and bowling in leagues with his friends and traveling to see races with his wife.
Private services will be held with burial at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Pekin or to a cancer research organization of your choice.
