Shelly Perhay, 73, of Metamora, passed away at 3:16pm Sunday, December 30, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Shelly was born February 4, 1945 in Peoria to George W. and Mary Cecilia Hirner Vicary. She married Kenneth Perhay on May 15, 1982 in Washington; he preceded her in death on March 8, 2017.
Surviving are her children, Kip (Julie) Perhay of Peoria and Kimberly (Bill) Bleich of Melvin; 13 grandchildren Hosanna (Nitesh) Inteti, Justice (Mandy), Mercy, Grace, Kerusso, Liberty, Patience, Ransom, Pierce, and Oliver Perhay; and Julia, Joshua, and Caleb Bleich; great-grandson, Corbin; brothers-in-law, William (JoAnn) Perhay of Florida, Donald (Kathy) Perhay of Washington, and sister-in-law, Jan Vicary of East Peoria; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Patricia Honegger and Steven Vicary.
Shelly graduated from Academy of Our Lady in 1963. She was employed at Feese Insurance Agency in Farmer City for 23 years. After retiring, she and Ken moved to Snyder Village in Metamora. They shared many wonderful fishing adventures and travels during their marriage. Shelly loved her family deeply and enjoyed her grandchildren's many activities.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria, with entombment to follow. Visitation will be from 10:30am-noon on Thursday at the mausoleum. Deacon Robert Myers will officiate. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is serving the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to a charity of the donor's choice.
