Kenneth Hunter Peak, 88, of Washington, passed away at 5:30 am on Monday, November 11, 2019, at his home.
Kenneth was born April 11, 1931, in Lewis County, MO, to Cyril Emery and Violetta Grace Hunter Peak. He married Margaret L. Gregory on April 8, 1956, in Kahoka, MO. They shared 63 years of marriage before Margaret passed on April 10, 2019. Kenneth was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wayne.
Survivors include: four children, Stephen Peak of East Peoria, Cheryl (John) Alexander of Mint Hill, NC, Janette (Jim) Chambliss of Eureka, Gregory (Kim) Peak of Creve Coeur; four grandchildren, Jennifer Frederich, Kate Parrish, Michael Peak, and Victoria Peak; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosemary Wood of Brashear, Mo; and many nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956 as an Air Traffic Controller. Following his years in the service, he worked as a machine repairman and a tool and die maker at Caterpillar Inc. for 34 ¾ years. Kenneth was a member of the UAW Local 974 and Sunnyland Christian Church.
Visitation will be held from 10 am to 11:30 am on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington with funeral services following at 11:30 am at the funeral home. Pastor Evan Williams will officiate. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sunnyland Christian Church.
