Jeanne Kay Sutton, 78, of Creve Coeur, passed away at 6:10 pm Monday, Nov. 12, 2018 at The Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing in Eureka.
She was born June 30, 1940 in Lawrenceville, PA to Albert G. and Mary V. Swan Sutton.
Surviving are her two sisters, Clara (Theron) Miller of Bluffton, IN, Ruth Askins of Creve Coeur; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lee Sutton; brother-in-law, Robert Askins; and nephew, Timothy Jordan.
After High School Jeanne attended college and received her Teaching Certificate in Binghamton, NY. She went to California and received her Bachelor’s of Arts degree at The San Diego California Baptist Bible College and Seminary. She also did summer missionary work in Mexico. She taught school in California, Pennsylvania, New York, and Chicago, and while in California she taught Cambodian students to speak and read English. She taught for 30 years retiring in 2002.
Jeanne was of the Christian faith, loved her family, helping and teaching children, and will be dearly missed.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm Saturday, Nov. 24th at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington with Pastor Duane Surels officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service, from 2 to 3 pm at the funeral home.
