Winefred E. "Winnie" Boyer died peacefully on August 10, 2021 at River Crossing of East Peoria, IL. Winnie was born on June 23, 1931 to Carl and Mary Simms in Liberty, IN. She was married to the love of her life, James H. Boyer until his death in 1999. She is survived by three daughters, Mary (Ralph) Hasten of Washington, IL, Lynne (Harold) Kempf of Garland, TX and Monica (Edward) Cassidy, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Vickie, one son, James, one grandson, Andrew, and one great-granddaughter, Amaya. She was a member of Roland Manor Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for several years. Winnie enjoyed working in retail because it gave her the opportunity to interact with people. She will be remembered as a kind lady who was a friend to many who came to know her over the years. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
