Obituary
Washington - Wilma Pauline Elliott, 90, of Washington, died at 11:45 AM on Sunday January 19, 2014 at her residence. She was born April 26, 1923 in Bonham, MO to Herman C. and Ella O. Sullivan Carl. She married Efton E. Elliott on June 11, 1941 in Aurora, MO. He preceded her in death October 31, 2000 in Washington. She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Pauline is survived by her two children; Wilma Jean (Charles) Trovillion of Washington and Efton (Betty) Elliott of Winter Haven, FL, five siblings; Mary Jo Barnett of Washington, Bill (Neita) Carl of Crane, MO, Kathryn (Norman) Talley of Nevada, MO, Kenneth Carl of Aurora, MO, James (Brenda) Carl of Washington, and her sister-in-law Dorothy Carl of Florissant, MO, four grandchildren; Teresa (Tim) Luhring, Kimberly (Bill) Doubet, Melvin (Madeleine) Elliott, Mindy (Eric) Ewalt, thirteen great- grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Pauline had the gift of hospitality and loved serving others. She especially enjoyed cooking, baking and hosting evangelists in their home. She also had a love for quilting and gardening. She served alongside her husband in the Church of the Nazarene for forty-five years in many different roles. She attended Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington since 2008 with her daughter and son-in-law.
There will be a celebration of life for Pauline at 11 AM on Friday January 24, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor John Hauck will officiate. There will be a visitation from 5-7 on Thursday at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
