Obituary
Willis E. "Tex" Ritter, age 87, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, formerly of Washington, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home.
He was born September 17, 1925, in Michael, Illinois, to Arthur J. and Adella M. Roentz Ritter. Mr. Ritter was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a charter and life member of the Washington, Illinois VFW Post, and was a part-time police officer for the City of Washington. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company. On April 30, 1980, he married Mary V. Hensley Brennecke and moved to Mountain Home in 1984 from Washington, Illinois.
Mr. Ritter was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Alley-White American Legion Post #52, was a reserve deputy with the Baxter County Sheriff's Office and set up the security system and was the first security guard at Baxter Regional Medical Center.
Survivors are his wife: Mary V. Ritter: of the home; two daughters: Patricia K. Hartzell: Morton, Illinois, and Pamela S. (Rick) Brown: Belvedere, Illinois; one stepson: Robb Brennecke: Kent, Washington; one step-daughter: Susan (Bob) Ruby: Dallas, Texas; one brother: Arthur J. (Marilee) Ritter, Jr.: Mountain Home; one sister: Linda Oller: Athens, Illinois; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one step-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife: Arleigh Lou Schumann Ritter; one brother; one sister and one stepson.
A Graveside Service will be at 11:30 AM Saturday October 20, 2012 at Glendale Cemetery in Washington, where full military honors will be rendered. Cremation rites have been accorded.
