Obituary EAST PEORIA - William H. "Bill" Tucker, 80, of East Peoria, died at 12:20 pm Friday, March 14, 2008 at his daughters home in East Peoria. Born on December 24, 1927 in Chilhowie, VA to Charles and Virginia "Virgie" McClure Tucker, he married Lila V. Roberts on July 2, 1955 in Galesburg, IL. She died on September 5, 1982 in Morton, IL. Surviving are 1 daughter, Anna (Greg) Oltman of East Peoria, 2granddaughter, Ashley Jones and Elizabeth Oltman, both of East Peoria, his longtime friend, Linda Clark and her children of East Peoria, and 1 sister, Bina Cumby of Annandale, VA. Bill was preceded in death by 1 brother, 3 sisters, and 1 grandson, Jacob. He worked as a truck driver at Sealtest and later worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Mossville as a pump truck driver for 26 years, retiring in 1992. Bill was a member of the American Legion Post #1115 in Spring Bay and the Moose Lodge #916 in Pekin. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He often lived vicariously through his son-in-law, Greg. A memorial ride for Bill with the Patriot Guard Riders will begin at 12:30 pm Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Deiters Funeral Home 2075 Washington Rd. Washington, and will conclude at the American Legion Post #1115, 500 Legion, Spring Bay. A gathering of family and friends will follow from 1-3 pm at the American Legion, where military honors will be accorded. Cremation rites have been accorded.
