Obituary William "Bill" P. Rettke, 62, of Washington, passed away at 9:51pm, Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Bill was born on May 21, 1952 in Bloomington to Clarence and Frances Shantz Rettke. He married Rebecca Riley in April of 2001. Surviving is his loving wife, Becki; step-daughter, Jennifer (Jeff) Corron of Dunlap; grandson, Bozeman; and three brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bill was a graduate of Pekin Community High School and served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He went on to work at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 36 years, retiring in 2008 as a supervisor. Bill enjoyed life's simple pleasures, like spending time at home with his family, tinkering in his garage or yard and birdwatching. He loved riding his Goldwing, and was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders' Association. With his wife, he rode it through 48 states in just five years. To honor Bill's wishes, a private family gathering will be held. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens' Research Hospital-Midwest Affiliate.
