Obituary WASHINGTON - William H. "Bill" Pierce, 92, of Washington, IL, died at 6 pm Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at Washington Christian Village. Born on February 17, 1915 in Evansville, IN to Claude and Elizabeth Pierce, he married Marjorie M. Miller on October 9, 1943 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. Surviving is his wife, Marge, of Washington, one daughter Cindy (Jerry) Brown of Washington, 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Bill was a Machinist at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for over 33 years, retiring in 1971. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. An avid fisherman and hunter, Bill belonged to numerous hunting clubs in the Peoria area. Over the years, he loved spending time with his numerous hunting dogs. Services will be at 10:30 am Saturday, February 16 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington. Pastor Alice Gwin will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.
