Obituary

William C. "Bill" Mount, 40, of Morton, IL, went to rest with Jesus at 9:26 pm Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL surrounded by his family. Bill was born on December 13, 1979 in Peoria, IL to Theresa S. and William D. Mount. He married the love of his life, Melissa, in July of 2006. She survives. Also surviving are his mother, Theresa Mount of Washington, IL, 4 children; Alyssa Mount of Peoria, IL, Rebecca Mount of East Peoria, IL, and Kamryn Mount and Gabriel Mount, both of Morton, IL, 1 grandson, Cyrus, his grandmother, Frances Hardy of Washington, IL, 1 sister, Amanda Andersen of Utah, a niece, Isabell McCaffrey of Utah, an aunt, Beverly Denning-Roth of Pekin, IL, cousin, Destiny Denning of Pekin, IL, and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, paternal grandparents, and maternal grandfather. Bill was an intelligent, dedicated, compassionate, brave, and full of life man! He could make you laugh and was generous with all his abundant gifts. He loved his family and friends, music, volunteering, and "blowing things up…legally". He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He worked for Caterpillar IT for almost 20 years and then went to went for IBM doing IT security. He was a member of Highview Christian Church and involved in their youth ministry, worship, and served as an elder. He loved Jesus and showing Jesus to others. Bill volunteered for TORA,TORA,TORA as an on-ground pyro expert. He was involved in Scouts as a Cub Master and Chaplain. He enjoyed so many things in life, always giving time to everyone. Cremation rites will be accorded and a Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials in Bill's memory may be made to Highview Christian Church 403 James Parkway, Washington, IL 61571 or to the American Cancer Society in honor of Bill.
