Obituary William "Bill" T. McGuire , 77, of Deer Creek passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 5:50PM at Washington Christian Village. Bill was born February 15, 1938 in Lawrence County, TN to Thomas M. and Bertha Bates McGuire. He married Elizabeth Fowler on July 20, 1968 in Woodford County. She survives. Also surviving are his four children, Thomas (Gladys) McGuire of Elk Grove CA, Chris (Pem) McGuire of East Peoria, Sandra Whelchel of Deer Creek, and Nick (Hope) McGuire of East Peoria; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five sisters and two brothers. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Pat West; and one brother, Ray McGuire. He worked as a UAW Regional Representative for over 30 years, retiring in 1996. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army. Bill spent a lot of his time working on and fixing cars. He enjoyed taking care of his ten-acre property, mowing and being outside. A memorial service for Bill will be held on Monday, March 16, 2015 at 6:00PM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Howard Love will officiate. There will be a memorial visitation prior to the service, from 4:00PM-6:00PM. Private inurment will be at a later date at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Memorial contributions will be made to OSF Hospice.
