WASHINGTON - William C. "Bill" Cole, 77, of Washington, passed away at 1:07 am Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born Dec. 15, 1940 in Jackson, MI to Charles and Catherine Louise Taber Cole. He married Lela Mae "Lee" McDaniel in Benton Harbor, MI on Dec. 16, 1961. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and step-daughter, Sherry McDaniel. Surviving are two children, Catherine (David) Loy of East Peoria, Janice (Bill) Watts of Washington, four grandchildren, Angela Merrill, Jason Watts, Nick Ogborn, Elizabeth Malouchos; and four great-grandchildren. Bill worked as a truck driver for Caterpillar Inc. before retiring. He was a member of the Mohammed Temple Shrine and Masonic Lodge in Peoria. He loved Big Ten Basketball, especially the Michigan Wolverines. Cremation rites have been accorded. Celebration of Life will be from 1 to 5 pm Saturday, Nov. 24th at VFW Post 9016 300 Zinser Place in Washington. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
