Obituary Washington - William "Buster" R. Bunn Sr., 70, of Washington, IL died at 10:37 AM on Tuesday October 8, 2013 at his residence after a courageous three year battle with brain and lung cancer. He was born on March 14, 1943 in Union City, GA to Sam and Johnnie Lou Hubbard Bunn. He married Linda McGuire on January 28, 1963 in Forest Park, GA. She survives. He is also survived by three children; Regina (Randy) Turner of Washburn, William (Heather) Bunn Jr of Tremont, and Valerie L. Bunn of Washington, four grandchildren; Cory Atwell, Allison Long, Nathan Bunn and Rory Bunn, three sisters; Betty (Jim) Campbell of College Park, GA, Mattie Lou (Kaerry) Cochran of Fayetteville, GA and Marybell (Norman) Smith of Stockbridge, GA and one brother; Bernard (Connie) Bunn of Union City, GA. Buster was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Buster was a heavy equipment operator for Local #649 for over 35 years working for both Roecker Brothers in Morton for twenty years and Stark Excavating in Bloomington for twenty years. He and his wife Linda celebrated 50 years of marriage in January. Buster enjoyed his family, especially spending time with his four grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, watching the Chicago Cubs and operating heavy equipment. Buster was involved in all the excavating that was done for the Washington Park District in the late 1970's. There will be a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Pastor Dick Garber will officiate. A Memorial Visitation will be 2 hours prior to service at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded.
