Obituary William "Wild Bill" L. Avery, 67, of East Peoria passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 2:30PM at his residence. Bill was born September 22, 1947 in Kennett, MO to Clint and Nellie Sudduth Avery. He married Mary Kinney in Peoria. He later married Sherry Faubel on March 8, 1980 in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are his daughters, Sarah Avery of Kent, WA and Alexandria Avery of East Peoria; one granddaughter, Jasmine; two uncles, Billy Joe (Maria) Sudduth and Dennis (Sandra) Green, both of Kennett, MO. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife. He was a 1964 graduate of Woodruff High School in Peoria. He then studied engineering at Bradley University in Peoria. Bill was drafted into the US military and joined the United States Marines; he served in the Vietnam War from 1966-1967. He then worked for the Army Corps of Engineers for over 30 years as a lock and dam operator. There will be no services. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
