Obituary

Obituary Willard B. Jackson, 88, of East Peoria, passed away at 7:25pm Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at his residence. Willard was born April 28, 1928 in Wyanet, IL to the late Harry and Bertha Thompson Jackson. He married Lois Forquer Brenenstall on September 20, 1980 in Peoria; she survives. Also surviving are his children, Bruce (Linda) Jackson of Pueblo West, CO and Greta Walker of Romeoville, IL; step-children, Linda (Robert) Rausch of Bellevue, NE and Randy (Sue) Brenenstall of Peoria, IL; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Jackson of Canoga Park, CA. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Stapleton and Lorene Blair; and a brother, Harry Jackson, Jr. Willard worked as a truck driver for 45 years, beginning his career with Canton Transfer. He enjoyed being on the road and meeting new people while hauling freight. He was a member of Teamsters Retirees #627 and Forrest Hill United Methodist Church in Peoria. He was also served his country in the US Army from 1950-1952. Willard was easy to talk to and made friends everywhere he went; he will be missed. A memorial service for Willard will be held at 11:00am Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Forrest Hill United Methodist Church in Peoria. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be at Texas Union Cemetery in rural Trivoli, with military honors. Rev. Dr. Curt Keller will officiate, and Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington is serving the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice or to Forrest Hill United Methodist Church. Cemetery Details Texas Union Cemetery 3200 S. Texas Rd.
