Obituary

Obituary Wesley C. Duncan, 90, of Metamora, passed away at 6:30am, Monday, March 2, 2015 at Snyder Village Health Center in Metamora. Wesley was born March 16, 1924 in Urbana, OH to David E. and Theresa F. Duncan. He married Betty Lou Coleman on June 4, 1946 in Urbana, OH; she preceded him in death on October 17, 2014. Surviving is one daughter, Jennifer (Larry) Aspin of Peoria; one son, Dennis (Kathy) Duncan of Three Rivers, MI; his sisters, Theresa and JoAnna, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Wesley was a proud member of the US Navy during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart while serving aboard the U.S.S. LST 499 as a hospital corpsman during the invasion of Normandy. He and Betty owned and operated Wesley's Restaurant for 14 years in Three Rivers, MI. Thereafter, he was the production manager for Wells Manufacturing in Three Rivers. Wesley enjoyed tennis, golf, and ping pong. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the loving cares of all at Snyder Village, Dr. Sharon Lee and OSF Hospice. Wesley and his beloved spouse of 68 years, Betty, will make their journey back home to Michigan this summer where family will host a celebration of their lives. Inurnment will be at Three Rivers Cemetery. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials can be made to Snyder Village Health Care in Metamora or OSF Hospice.
