Obituary WASHINGTON-Wayne A. Hediger, 86, of Washington, IL passed away at 10:33 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Born on May 30, 1926 in Greenville, IL to Ernest and Mary Rebecca Wade Hediger, he married Gloria M. Foster on July 5, 1952 in Pickett, AR. She preceded him in death on September 17, 2012 in Peoria. Surviving are 2 sons, Michael (Mindy) Hediger and Robin (Ledya) Hediger, both of Washington; 1 daughter, Rebecca Gaylor of Bartonville; 1 grandson, John Wayne Gaylor of Bartonville; 4 brothers, Don Hediger of St. Louis, MO, Lester Hediger of Washington, Murray Hediger of Pocahontas, IL, and Roland Hediger of St. Louis, MO; and 2 sisters, Ada Wade of Carlyle, IL and Shirley Ismail of Belleville, IL. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Harold, Vince and Lucine and 1 sister, Vera. Wayne was a US Army veteran. He was a welder at Caterpillar, Inc. for 41 years, retiring in 1988. Wayne was a long time member of Sunnyland Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed gardening and was an honorary member of Kennel Lake. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Pastor Randy Lingenfelter will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton.
