Obituary
WASHINGTON-Wayne E. Grawe, 80, of Washington, IL died at 9:22 AM Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born on June 11, 1932 in Quincy, IL to Edward and Viola Duright Grawe, he married Marie Lochman on September 8, 1956 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Quincy. She survives.
Also surviving are 7 children, Karen (William) Olivero of Champaign, Judith (Denny) Latham of Washington, Michael (Stacy) Grawe of Morton, Carol (Joe) Crocker and Mark Grawe, both of Washington, Jeff (Elaine) Grawe of Naperville, Susan (Greg) Litwiller of Mackinaw; 1 brother, Tom (Nancy) Grawe of Loveland, OH and 15 grandchildren.
Wayne was preceded in death by infant daughter, Sharon Sue, his parents, and 2 brothers, James and Kenneth.
He was a member of the US Naval Reserves from 1951-1959.
Wayne worked in purchasing for both, Motorola, Inc. in Quincy and later for Klaus Companies in Peoria. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Fr. John Menco Council #6707. Wayne was an avid Chicago Cub Fan and in his younger years, he loved bowling and fishing. He will be remembered as an excellent father and grandfather.
Wayne was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington where there will be a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM Friday, October 5, 2012. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and additional visitation hour prior to Mass at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
