Obituary EAST PEORIA--Wanda L. (Roe) Dudley, 89, of East Peoria, formerly of Creve Coeur, died at 3:43 AM, on Friday, September 5, 2008 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL. She was born on November 21, 1918 in Calhoun County, Illinois to Charles and Amanda Foiles Benz. She married Raymond Roe on June 21, 1946 in Brighton, IL. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1973 in Hyden, KY. She later married Melvin Dudley on June 15, 1981 in East Peoria, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 10, 1991 in Peoria. Surviving are 2 daughters Robin (Lee) Benway of East Peoria IL and Linda (Harry) Karle of Chipley FL; and her grandson, Cody Benway of East Peoria IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Wanda worked in the kitchen for the Creve Coeur school district, and was the cafeteria manager at Robein Grade School for 9 years. Wanda was a member of Bethany Missionary Church in East Peoria for 50 years, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a deaconess, and had been involved in women's ministries. A funeral service will be held at 7 PM on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. The Reverend Joe Weyer will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following services.
