Obituary Vivian Walker, 88, of Peoria, passed away at Heddington Oaks on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 7:15pm. Vivian was born April 17, 1927 in Stilwell, OK to Tom Daugherty and Shirley (Rutherford) Daugherty, and married Beulan Walker. Surviving are her four children, Johnnie (Karen) Walker of East Peoria, IL; Alva (Don) Messer of Naperville, IL; Diann (Joe) Yelton of East Peoria, IL; and Danny Walker of Pekin, IL; three granddaughters, Holly (Jay) Brainard of Wichita, KS; Dawn (George) Shanine of Naperville, IL; and Doreen (Tim) Musselman of Metamora, IL; six great grandchildren, George Shanine and Sydney Shanine of Naperville, Il; Grace Brainard and Isabelle Brainard of Wichita, KS; and Nicole Musselman and Megan Musselman of Metamora, IL; a beloved friend who was like a sister for 65 years, Joanne Moore of Hendricks, MN; as well as, two grand dogs, Sonny (with whom Vivian had a special connection) and Cinder; and numerous nieces and nephews. Vivian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Beulan; 1 son, Buster Walker; 1 grandson, Chad Messer; her parents; and her brother, 'Gene' Grover Eugene Daugherty of Stilwell, OK. A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be Parkview Cemetery in Peoria. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to TAPS or OSF Hospice.
