Obituary
Vivian Gafford Doversberger, 84, of Washington, passed away at 12:52am, Sunday, January 26, 2014 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
Vivian was born October 4, 1929 in Jefferson City, MO to Pollard and Alpha Mae Nichols Gibbs. She married Richard Gafford in 1952, with whom she had 3 children. She later married Richard Doversberger in 1985; he preceded her in death in 2003.
Surviving is 1 son, Rich (Kris) Gafford of Pekin; 2 daughters, Cindy Eubank and Ginny (Mike) Everett, both of Washington; 9 grandchildren, Jennifer Everett of Washington, Brigit Harper of Peoria, Lisa Sanders of Morton, Molly Damotte of Pekin, Lacey Everett of Indianapolis, Wayne Eubank, Jr. of Peoria, Kris Doversberger of Illinois, Kate Doversberger of Illinois, and Collin Doversberger of Texas; 1 brother, Robert (Nancy) Gibbs of Louisiana, MO.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, and a great-grandson.
Vivian retired from American Standard-Dresser in Peoria in 1987, after 20 years of service. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Washington, where she enjoyed volunteering time to work on the church bulletin. She was also active in fundraising and volunteering for Parkinson's Disease foundations. Sewing, baking, and making crafts were hobbies that she enjoyed.
A funeral service for Vivian will be held at noon, Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Pastor Mary Arnold will officiate. Interment will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
