Obituary MORTONa"Virginia A. Weidman, 93, of Morton, died at 1:20 PM on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at her residence. She was born in Chicago, IL on August 31, 1914, the daughter of August Oscar and Lois Mae Crosier Wultz. August, who had been partners in Walgreens Drug Store, died at the age of 50. Herbert Smith then became her stepfather and was very important in her life. She married Paul George Weidman on June 19, 1937 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1975 in Peoria. She is survived by her son, Donald P. (Carol) Weidman of Morton, 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and three nieces. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Russell "Rusty" Weidman, a brother, Donald E. Wultz, and a sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Harold Mohn. Virginia graduated from Carthage College in 1936. She was a teacher at Manlius High School and later retired from Pleasant Valley Grade School. She had also been employed part-time at the Morton Auto Auction. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Peoria where she was very involved in their Christmas Tree Lane Program, and was a member of Tri-T and King's Daughters. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, January 14, 2008 at American Mausoleum in Peoria. The Rev. David Mahsman will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services from 1-2 PM at the mausoleum. Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
