Obituary

Obituary Virginia "Ginna" M. Dingman, 90, of Normal, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 9:45P.M. at her residence. Virginia was born on January 30, 1925 in Oulu, WI to Nikolai and Emelia (Pudas) Mattila. She married Robert "Bob" Dingman on June 14, 1947 in Little Falls, MN. He survives. Also surviving are her three children, James (Katie) Dingman of Port Angeles, WA, Gordon Dingman of Normal, IL and Marjorie (Alan) Jarand of Normal, IL; five grandchildren, James Dingman, Jeannine (John) Iushewitz, Valerie Dingman, Emily Jarand, and Gabrielle Dingman; two great-grandchildren, Adelia and Gerald Iushewitz . Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Virginia's greatest passion was taking care of her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bob's career allowed them to travel the globe for 55 years, living and working in many states and countries. They started their travels shortly after they were married, when Bob came home and asked Ginna if she wanted to move to Santiago Chile. Ginna was a primary and secondary teacher. She taught in many states in the US and Santiago Chile,she retired in 1972. Ginna and Bob's favorite saying,'Are we having fun yet?' Memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital- Midwest Affiliate. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. There will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded.
