Obituary

Vickie L. Williams, 60, of Washington, IL, died at 8:53 am Friday, January 7, 2022 surrounded by her family at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria.

Born on December 10, 1961 in Peoria, IL to Alvin Russell Smith and Beverly Iona Greenhalgh, she married Scott A. Williams on October 2, 1982 in Peoria, IL.  He survives.

Also surviving are 3 children; Andrew L. Williams of Washington, Tyler A. Williams of Peoria,  Courtney L. Williams (Dan Zilm) of East Peoria; grandchildren, Gavin A. Williams of Washington, and Kylie A. Boeke of Bloomington;  brother-in-law, Michael (Alissa) Williams and nieces, Luci and Abbi Williams, all of Morton;  aunt, Gina Simmons of Peoria;  cousin, Janet (Greg) Bearce and family of Peoria, and her bonus family, Ellen (Doug) Henderson of Peoria, AZ, Kent Hooker of Jenison, MI, and Todd (Aimee) Hooker of San Diego, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She graduated from East Peoria Community High School in 1979. Initially working at Bergner's,  Methodist Medical Center, and Multi Ad,  Vickie later enjoyed being a stay at home mom.  She was very supportive of her children's activities from being a band mom to traveling to Power Tumbling meets.

Vickie was a warm and caring person and met many people during her 20 plus years as a Longaberger Basket consultant. She served as a member of the Northern Tazewell Fire Department from 2013-2015. She is remembered for her wit, smile and warmth.

Vickie was an avid Rae Dunn pottery collector, enjoyed crafting, and loved taking pictures. She was a huge animal lover, and leaves behind six cats and one dog. She cherished time spent at the beach in Madeira Beach, FL, where she collected mermaids. She was a huge Garth Brooks fan and enjoyed seeing him in concert three times.

Services for Vickie will be at 10 am Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.  Northern Tazewell Fire Department Chaplain Steven Kinney will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
