Obituary WASHINGTONa"Velda I. Venegonia, 83, of Washington, died at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at her residence. Born on February 11, 1927 in Peoria, IL to John and Olive Russell Blumenstock, she married Francis J. Venegonia on May 28, 1949 in East Peoria, IL; he preceded her in death on April 12, 2006 in Washington. Surviving are 4 daughters, Vicki (Ed) Orr of East Peoria, Peggy (Jaime) Avila of The Villages, FL, Nancy McNeil of Pekin and Mary Venegonia of Washington; 3 sons, Joe (Judy) Venegonia of Pekin, Mark (Lori) Venegonia of Springfield, and Dan (Cindy) Venegonia of Washington; 2 sons-in-law, Joe Malek of Lombard, IL and Ron Reavley of Washington; 24 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 brothers and 2 daughters, Linda Malek and Sue Reavley. Velda was a homemaker and member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. A funeral service will be held at 3PM on Sunday, February 28 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. The Rev. Fr. Joseph P. Donton will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home in Washington. Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria at a later date.
