Obituary Peoria- Velda Imogene Elliott, 95 of Peoria, passed away at 3:15 AM on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center. She was born on February 4, 1917 in Carterville, IL to the late Verner and Cecile Upshaw Purnell. She married Lewin J. Elliott on November 26, 1938 in Kahoka, MO. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1991. Surviving are a daughter and a son, Linda (Henry) Pratt of Washington and Stephen Elliott of Jacksonville, NC; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Velda was a homemaker and concessions operator at Northmoor Golf Course from 1967-1971. Cremation rites have been accorded and private graveside services will take place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.
