Obituary
WASHINGTON-Todd N. Klendworth, 49, of Washington, IL , died at 1:56 am Saturday, June 11, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.
Born on June 21, 1961 in Pontiac, IL to Leroy J. "Butch" and Sharon K. Scoggan Klendworth, he married Paula Buhrow in 1979. He later married Kristina Schlueter.
Surviving are 2 children, Dana Rose Klendworth and Kyle John Klendworth, both of Washington; his mother, Sharon Harper of Maquoketa, IA; his father, Leroy "Butch" (Laura) Klendworth of Independence, IA; grandmother, Velma "Granny K" Klendworth of Minonk, IL 2 brothers, Phillip (Rita) Klendworth of Ft. Worth, TX and Brent (Cindy) Klendworth of Fairbank, IA; stepbrother, Randy (Nancy) Friedrich of Independence, IA; stepsister, Robin (Ernie) Yandow of Jesup, IA, and father mentor, Gary Dominy of Hennepin, IL.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy Klendworth and Lester & Bernice Scoggan, and stepsister, Laura.
Todd was a Journeyman Meat Cutter for Kroger for 12 years and managed the meat department at the Kroger in Washington. He later worked construction and most recently worked in large scale demolition.
Todd was a member of AAU Golden Gloves Boxing. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and a diehard Jeff Gordon #24 Nascar fan. Family and friends are asked to wear Hawkeye and/or Nascar attire to the services. Hats and sunglasses are optional. Todd was a registered organ donor and New Hope received his donation.
A memorial service will be at 2 pm Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Following the service, there will be a luncheon and fellowship at the VFW in Washington. A graveside service will then be held at 7 pm at Dana Cemetery in Dana, IL.
