Obituary Theresa M. Eddy, 65, of Peoria, IL died at 9:20 am Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Riverview Independent Living in East Peoria, IL. Born on June 20, 1951 in Indianapolis, IN to James and Cecelia Markowicz Watkins, she married Jay Eddy in 1975. He preceded her in death in 1977. Surviving are 1 son, Andrew (Laura) Eddy of Washington, IL, 4 grandchildren, Drew, Emma, Katelynn, and Max, her mother, Cecelia Watkins of West Virginia, 2 sisters, Eileen Verib of Ohio and Jamie Givens of West Virginia and her lifelong friend Mary Mendenhall of East Peoria. Her father preceded her in death. Theresa was a kindergarten teacher at Roosevelt Magnet School in Peoria for more than 20 years. She also was a member of St. Thomas Church in Peoria Heights. A graveside service will be at 3 pm Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. A celebration of life gathering will follow from 4-6 pm at Kep's Place Sports Bar and Grill in Washington. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
