Terry Teeter, 72, of East Peoria, died at 9:14 am on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at his home.

He was born May 4, 1951 to the late Norma (King) and Charles Teeter II in Dupage County, IL.

He married John Barker on May 30, 2010 in Dubuque, IA; John survives.

Also surviving are his three sons, Todd, Charles, and Nathan (Lindsay) Teeter; his

grandchildren, Chase, Dade, Lindsey, Jennifer, Lucy, and Ethan; his brother, Scott Teeter; his

sisters, Sandy Gilmore and Donna Vidito; his 4 legged companions, Huck and Bella; and many

nieces and nephews.

Terry was a strong advocate for the LGBTQ community as well as the Fresh Water Springs in

Florida. He admired the art of cooking so much that he became a self-taught professional cook.

He spent a lot of his time outdoors keeping himself active. He was fond of swimming, biking,

snow skiing, and hiking. He took pleasure in being the house handyman and was happy to help

out where he could. He adored animals and was happy to have his fur babies by his side for the

last few moments of his life. Terry was an incredible man that will be dearly missed.

Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Cremation has

been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a local humane society of the donor's

choosing.
