Terry Teegarden, 65, of East Peoria, passed away at 8:51am Thursday, February 25, 2021 in his home. He was born August 14, 1955 to Lewis and Ruth (Shepherd) Teegarden. He is survived by his wife, Kay; son Jared (Jamie); grandson, Sawyer; and his black Lab, Katie. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry. Terry graduated from East Peoria High School in 1973 and from Eureka College in 1977, where he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) fraternity. He retired from Ameren after 39 years as a gas service journeyman. Terry was also an official for the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) for 40 years, officiating football, basketball, baseball and softball; he enjoyed officiating greatly. There are four things Terry loved: his family, his dogs, hunting and the Rolling Stones. Over the years, he attended every Rolling Stones concert in the Midwest. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and Delta Waterfowl and Hunter Retriever Club. Over the years, he enjoyed working with his many black Labs and not only hunted with his dogs, he also helped run hunt tests with his friends and their dogs, and belonged to the American Kennel Club and the United Kennel Club. Terry was also a member of the Peoria Skeet Club and shot every Sunday with his friends when they didn't hunt. There will be no visitation due to the Covid-19 virus; a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with cremation. Inurnment will be at Fon du Lac Cemetery next to his parents and brother.
