Terry L. Childers, 69, of Peoria, passed away January 22, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Terry was born June 20, 1954 in Peoria to the late Ray and Dorothy Lee Childers. He married Dorothy "Dewey" Magee on October 5, 1981; she preceded him in death on January 18, 2023.

Surviving are his sons, Brian and Ben Childers; his grandchildren; one sister; several sisters and brothers in law; and many nieces and nephews.

Terry had a long career in security, retiring from National Security Associates. He was respected in his field and was selected for many unique assignments. He and Dewey were longtime foster parents, fostering over 75 children in need.

Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
