Teresa Ann Garner, 52, of East Peoria, passed away at 3pm Thursday, February 18, 2021 in Peoria. She was born July 22, 1968 in St. Charles, MO. Surviving are her step-father and mother, Bradley and Arsenia Strunk; siblings, Jeff (Nikki) Schaffrin, Stephanie (Josh) Goddard, Brian (Melissa) Schaffrin; two step-sisters, Olivia (Darin) Hurd, Marlaina Strunk; and several nieces and nephews. Teresa graduated from Dunlap High School and earned a Bachelor's degree from Bradley University. She worked as an accountant. Anyone who knew Teresa knew how much she loved her dogs (her "babies") and how much she loved animals. She loved to dance, being outside in the sun and taking rides in her Jeep. She loved a good laugh and making others laugh. Teresa was a loving daughter, sister and aunt who was always willing to help. She was a loving "mother" to Joshua Garner and loved him as her own son. She loved her family and friends with all of her heart. Her memory, her smile and her laugh will forever live on in our hearts. Cremation has been accorded. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6pm on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midwest Dachshund Rescue.
