Obituary Metamora- Temple F. Ohl, 92 of Metamora and formerly of Peoria, passed away at 10:09 AM Wednesday, September, 26, 2012 at Snyder Village of Metamora. Temple was born on August 11, 1920 in Peoria, IL to the late David and Mary Theinert Ohl. He married Bette R. Patton, his loving wife of 70 years, on December 27, 1941 in Palmyra, MO. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Temple "Rusty" Ohl of Peoria and Richard (Joanne) Ohl of Peoria; four grandchildren, Sabrina (Kelly) Julian, Temple J., Jason, and Matt Ohl; two great-grandsons, Macen and Brock Julian; a sister, Vera Van Valey of Peoria. Temple was predeceased by three brothers and one sister, Harry, David and Loyal Ohl and Laverne Loveless. Temple founded Ohlly's Radiator Service in Peoria in 1957. He was a member of Peoria Skeet and Trap Club for over 50 years winning several trophies and championships for his trap shooting. He also was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rites, Loyal Order of the Moose and Shriners for over 50 years. Temple was also a member of the American Legion Post #2 for 25 years. Temple served 3 years in the United States Army Air Force during WWII. Honoring' Mr. Ohl's wishes a private family visitation has taken place and cremation rites will be accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Snyder Village of Metamora or Methodist Hospice.
