Obituary
Suzane Boley, 78, of Washington, passed away at 3 a.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015 at her home.
She was born December 31, 1936 in Peoria, IL to Theodore and Virla Roland Bowman. She married Dale Boley on September 29, 1957 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and infant son, Raymond.
Surviving are three children, Wayne (Kathy) Boley of Washington, IL, Brian (Dawn) Boley of Wisconsin, Roy Boley; 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Suzane was a Cub Scout Den Leader, Den Leader Coach, and worked on the District Training Staff. She sold tube paint and judged at the 4H Fair in Pekin, and was also co-author of a book to make tube painting a 4H project. She was on the City of Washington Planning Commission from Nov. of 1983 to 1987, City of Washington Economic Development Commission, Assistant Coordinator Washington Emergency Service and Disaster Agency, Tazewell County Emergency Service and Disaster Agency, Former Peoria Riverman Booster Club serving as secretary and on the Board of Directors in 1988 and 1989, received Washingtonian Award in Washington, IL in 1996, and received Good Neighbor Award in Washington, IL in 1989 with her husband.
She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington where she served on many committees, including the kitchen committee and was also involved with the church bazaars. She was the Nurture chairman for several years, on the Outreach/Witness Ministry Team, and along with her husband, served as leaders for Senior Connections for many years.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church to be divided between the Kitchen and Busy Bees.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington with Pastor John Hauck and her grandson, Britton Rexroat officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 26 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, with further visitation 30 minutes before services at the Church on Wednesday. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
