Obituary PEORIAa"Susan T. Callahan, 66, of Peoria, died at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born on July 18, 1942 in Peoria, Illinois to Lawrence A. and Dorothy L. Taylor Zilch, she married John H. Klaasen III on October 7, 1960; he survives. She later married James D. Callahan on December 28, 1982 in Las Vegas, NV; he survives. Also surviving is her mother, Dorothy L. Zilch of East Peoria; 2 sons, John Klaasen IV of Denver, CO and Michael L. (Cindy) Klaasen of Peoria, IL; 1 brother, James L. (Karen) Zilch of Creve Coeur, IL; 1 sister, Mary J. (Joseph) Kamp of East Peoria, IL; and 1 grandson, Michael J. Klaasen of Denver, CO. She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence A. Zilch and her grandparents. Susan was an Interior Decorator with Sears in Peoria for 37 years, and was the owner and operator of Callahan Decorating in Peoria. Susan was an avid Bradley Basketball fan and season ticket holder. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and animals. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, July 28 at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. The Rev. Bill Lakota-Eastin will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Sunday, July 27 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
