Obituary East Peoria-Steve Williams, 50 of East Peoria, formerly of Nashville, AR, died at 10:45 AM on Sunday October 16, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born July 17, 1961 in Peoria, IL to Vernon and Ruth Aileen Turner Williams Jr. He married Brenda Neuman on August 9, 1980 in Elmwood, IL. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters Khaliah(Gabriel) Coleman of Little Rock, AR, Mandie Williams of Gurdon, AR, one son, Brandon(Elizabeth Ellis)Williams of Elmwood, IL, three grandchildren, Jasmyne Shelton, Reese Shelton, and Adam Coleman, his stepmother, Glenola Williams of East Peoria, three sisters, Debbra(Eric) Price of Yates City, IL, Sandy(Stephan) Sumner of Pekin, IL, Jody(Don) Hostetter of East Peoria, IL, two brothers, Gary(Sandy) Williams of Mapleton, IL , Bob(Carmen)Williams of Yates City, IL, three foster children Kimberly Chambers(James) Granger of Cotton Shed,AR and Kelly Granger of Nashville, AR. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Riddell. Steve was raised in Yates City and moved to Arkansas in 1986. He attended Cossatot Community College - University of Arkansas in Hope, AR where he became a certified electrician. He earned numerous other certifications. He was a volunteer fireman and a Disaster Relief Health and Safety Volunteer for the American Red Cross. He umpired baseball and officiated basketball for over 30 years in Arkansas and Illinois. He was a member of Cross Point Cowboy Church in Nashville, AR and attended Cross Point Church in East Peoria, IL. Steve worked for Tyson Foods for 25 years in maintenance. He later worked for Husqvarna as an electrician, both in Nashville, AR. He was a cattle rancher and farmer. Steve enjoyed hunting and loved his dogs. He was an avid supporter of the Humane Society. Steve also loved spending time with his grandchildren. There will be a funeral service for Steve at 10:00 AM Saturday October 22 at Cross Point Church in East Peoria. Pastor Joshua Gutteridge will officiate. There will be a visitation from 5-7 PM on Friday at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Burial will take place in Oakhill Cemetery in Brimfield. Service OCT 22. 10:00 AM CrossPoint Church 400 South Pleasant Hill Road East Peoria, IL, US
