Stephen Brady Towry, 69, of Supportive Living in Washington, IL left this world at 11:42 am, Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. He was born on March 3, 1952 in Peoria, IL to Isaac Brady and Ina Vivian (Evans) Towry.

Steve is survived by one sister, Pamela Towry, of Washington IL, an aunt, Velva Burch, and 17 first cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of RoLand Manor Baptist Church.

Steve graduated from Washington Community High School in 1970, where he played varsity baseball for 4 years. He attended Illinois Central College and Bradley University. Steve retired from Wheatland Title Companies in 2017.

Steve was a longtime fan of WCHS Basketball. He was a Booster Club Fan of the Year in 2003.

Steve loved sports and made many friends playing and coaching softball, basketball and tennis. Those who knew Steve,  were amazed with his memory of sports, history, old movies, etc. His recall of WCHS baseball and basketball games and the St. Louis Cardinals was mind boggling.

Steve will be remembered as a loyal friend, his enthusiasm for life and his love for his family. We will never forget his Hawaiian shirts, Panama hats and cigars.

A celebration of life will be held at 1pm Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Countryside Garden Tent, 659 School Street, Washington, IL.  Visitation will be from 2pm-4pm Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Countryside Banquet Hall.  Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
