Steve Bullock, 78, of Metamora, passed away at 1:58pm Monday, July 5, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born July 20, 1942 in Peoria, IL to Kenneth and Eleanor Huff Bullock. He married Diana Ruckle in Mossville, IL on March 17, 1967. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Sally (Alex) Mercado; and two grandchildren, Kimber and Joey Mercado. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Heather; and brother, James. Steve was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran. He worked as a mechanic at Peoria Rental for 40 years, retiring in 2020. He was a member of the American Legion Post #89 in Metamora. Steve enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, gardening, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. A funeral service will be held at 1pm Friday, July 9, 2021 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from Noon to 1pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to TAPS No-Kill Animal Shelter in Pekin.
