Stephen F. Smith, 74, of Washington, passed away at 6:25am Saturday, August 14, 2021 at UnityPoint Health- Proctor in Peoria. Steve was born April 22, 1947 in Peoria to the late Kenneth and Mary Smith. On August 28, 2015, he married Charon (Guinnee) Faulkner in Pekin; she survives. Also surviving are his children, Scott (Wendy) Smith of Mackinaw and Tamra (Brian) Barron of Washington; grandchildren, Bennett and Savannah Barron; brothers, Richard (Tammy), Michael, and Brian Smith; and cousins, Dennis and Gary Smith. He was also preceded by brother, Stanley Smith. Steve enjoyed cars and motorcycles/atv; after his honorable discharge from the US Marine Corp in 1970, he enjoyed a long career helping many customers in sales, working at John Bearce Automall and Cupi's in Pekin. He had an unforgettable sense of humor. He was an avid Bears and Cubs fan. He loved playing cards with his relatives or reeling in a big one from the lake. Steve cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandkids, and enjoyed many trips to Wisconsin through the years. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with cremation rites.
