Stephen "Steve" Kellington, 66, of Washington, passed away at 2:57 pm Thursday, March 3, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born December 17, 1955 in Peoria to William and Edith Kellington.  He married Aniko Landenz in Peoria in 1975.  She survives.

Also surviving are two children, Steven (Janice) Kellington, Brittany Kellington; three grandchildren; one brother, Don (Sandy) Kellington; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Hank.

Steve worked as an experimental mechanic at Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville.  He was also a licensed plumber, HVAC person, and diesel mechanic.

He loved his cars, music, boating, target shooting, wood working, and spending time with his family.  He will be dearly missed.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.  There will be no visitation.  Burial will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
