Stephen T. Hughes, 54, of Henry, IL and formerly of Washington, IL died at 5:30 pm Sunday, December 19, 2021 at his home. He was born on April 30, 1967 to Thomas and Carolyn Ogle Hughes. His parents preceded him in death, as did his stepfather, Duane Hall. Surviving is one sister Debra Hall (Daryl Fager) of East Peoria, IL, nephew, Dylan Hittle and niece, Carilyn Fager, both of East Peoria, and 2 uncles Kevin Newcomb of LaRose, IL and Jerry Newcomb of TN. Stephen attended Washington Community High School and most recently worked as a machinist in Chillicothe. He was a well- read history buff with his first love being the Old West and American Indian culture. Steve also enjoyed the peace of the country and his dog, Callie. Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial visitation will be from 4-6 pm Monday, December 27, 2021 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family in c/o CEFCU.
