Obituary Spencer "Speezy" Simmons, 27, of Marquette Heights, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018. He was born on May 31, 1990 in Peoria, IL. Surviving is his mother and step-father, Donna and Grant Cordes; grandmother, Donna Kirkpatrick; 2 daughters, Riley Simmons and Bri Shrum; sister, Sadie Conley; step-brothers and step-sisters, Trish, Joe, Peyton, Cheyenne, Ethan and Evan; uncle, Kay (Pam) Rogers; and many other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Kirkpatrick; and cousin, Nicholas Rogers. Spencer had many passions but his main passion was his family. He enjoyed sports, and was an avid Bears fan. He also enjoyed singing and gaming. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to an education fund for his daughter, Riley, at CEFCU. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 pm Friday, Jan. 12, 2018 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. In honor of Speezy, the family encourages all to wear Chicago Bears apparel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Cremation will be accorded with inurnment at Glendale Cemetery in Washington at a later date.
