Obituary WASHINGTON--Shirley J. Suits, 71, of Washington died at 5:05 AM on Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at her residence. Born on June 22, 1938 in Rockford, IL to Arthur and Golda Smith Wellman, she married Bill W. Suits on November 11, 1961 in Peoria, IL; he survives. Also surviving is her daughter, Teresa Harris of Creve Coeur and son, Brian W. Suits of Cleveland, OH; her sister, Dorothy (Tom) Holmbo of Roscoe, IL; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Dennis Suits and 3 brothers, Arthur, Leo and Jerry. Shirley worked as a registered nurse for 41 years. Shirley was an auxiliary member of the Moose Lodge in Peoria and had belonged to a nursing organization. She was a great cook, and devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, September 26 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to services, from 11AM-1PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
