Obituary WASHINGTON-Shirley Holmes, 73, of Washington, IL, died at 4:40 am Thursday, December 16, 2010 at her home. Born on September 26, 1937 in Okmulgee, OK to Russell and Jewell LaVern Rogers Realford, she married Larry F. Holmes on February 24, 1956 in Peoria, IL. He survives. Also surviving are her mother, LaVern Chance of Metamora, IL; 2 children, Larry (Sheree) Holmes, Jr. of Simpsonville, SC and Sherry (Perry) Darling of Austin, TX; son-in-law, Dennis Hartman of Sunnyland, IL; 1 brother, Sheral (Jan) Chance, Jr. of Peoria, IL, and 5 grandchildren, Jason, Chad, Ryan, Amanda, and Ross. She was preceded in death by her father, 1 daughter, Brenda Hartman, 1 sister, Dora Mae Privett, and step-father, Sheral Chance. Shirley was a homemaker who loved crocheting and playing bingo. She was a member of Living Waters Lutheran Church in Peoria. Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Rev. Mark Schoenhals will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday, December 20, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton. .
