Obituary

Shirley Annadean (Winegarner) Doudera, 88, of Metamora, IL passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Snyder Village in Metamora. She previously resided in East Peoria, IL for over 50 years where she was a homemaker. She has been a long time member of Sunnyland Christian Church in Washington, IL. She also resided in Salem, IL for several years before moving to Metamora.

Shirley was born in her childhood home in Cartter, IL on April 27, 1936 to the late Isabelle and Alfa Winegarner. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Kenneth Doudera; daughters, Sherry Anderson, Carol (Dan) Parish; son, Jim Doudera; son-in-law, Greg Kaufmann. She was the proud grandmother of 6 grandchildren, Cindy (Ronnie) White, Scott (Courtney) Anderson, Alesia (Brad) Haley, Nathan (Amy) Kaufmann, Robert (Anna) Parish, and Melissa Parish, as well as 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Betty Kaufmann; and brother, Edward Winegarner.

Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family dearly and wouldn't hesitate to tell you how proud she was of each and every one.  She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings and found peace in  feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard.

The family would like to thank the staff of Snyder Village of Metamora and Lavender Ridge Dignified Memory Care of Mt. Vernon for their loving care while she was a resident there.
