Shirley Ann Doan, 78, of Washington, passed away at 8:27am Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Shirley was born July 20, 1941 in Clay Center, KS to the late Harry W. and Alma M. Rosenow Hildenbrand. She married Horace C. 'Butch' Doan on May 16, 1964 in Riley, KS. Surviving is her husband, Butch, of Washington; children, Terry (Ana) Doan of Rockhill, SC, Jenni Doan of Effingham, and Kerry (Windy) Doan of Colorado Springs, CO; and her grandchildren, Megan Doan, Erin Doan, Lizzie Bieker, and Austin Doan. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Arthur, Kenneth, Arlene, and Maxine. Shirley worked as a medical secretary for many years. She worked at Proctor Hospital and was the office manager at Dr. Sauder's office. Over the years she volunteered at the Women's Pregnancy Center in Peoria and served as a foster home with her family. Shirley was member of Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington and was active in the Senior Choir and the Busy Bees. A memorial service will be held at 11:30am Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is serving the family.
