Obituary WASHINGTON-Shirley Jean Dixon, 64, of Washington, IL passed away at 8:18 PM Monday, May 21, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Born on December 23, 1947 in Sikeston, MO to the late Everett W. Sr. and Nola Mae Hampton Hays, she married William G. Dixon on May 28, 1966 in Sikeston. He survives. Also surviving are 2 children, Barbie Jean (James) Dixon-Coon of Farmington and Greg Dixon of Chillicothe; 5 grandchildren, Carolyn Tucker, Kayla Coon, Thomas Hale, Grace Hale, and Emily Hale, 4 brothers, Everett Hays Jr., Dennis (Sheila) Hays, Mike (Sissy) Hays, and Steven (Frannie) Hays, and 1 sister, Mary Jane (Gene) Stroud. Shirley worked in housekeeping for 23 years at Washington Christian Village, retiring in 2004. She enjoyed bowling, drawing, and paint by numbers. Most of all, Shirley enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. Funeral services will be at 1 pm Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Pastor Fred D. Albanito will officiate. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.
