Sharon L. King, 82, of Peoria, passed away at 3:35 am Saturday, December 25, 2021 at her home.

She was born January 2, 1939 in Peoria to Charles and Vivian King.  She married Grover Wayne King in Peoria on May 30, 1958.  He preceded her in death on September 9, 2018.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; and an infant son, Jeff.

Surviving are two children, Lisa (Byron) Myers of Peoria, and Michael (Susan) King of Morton; five grandchildren, Mellissa (Peter) Gorman, Matthew King, DJ (Becky) Satchfield, Tyler Myers, LeeAnn Myers; and nine great-grandchildren.

Sharon enjoyed knitting and crocheting.  Her greatest joy was her family.  Spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids was her world.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria where a Memorial Mass will be held at 10am on Friday, January 7, 2022.  Visitation will be one hour prior, from 9 to 10am at the church.  Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Heart of Illinois Down Syndrome Association at 325 E. Queenwood Rd in Morton, IL 61550.
