Shanon S. Hymbaugh, of East Peoria, after a brave battle against cancer for 8 years, passed away at 11:38am Saturday, December 24, 2022 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born March 16, 1956 in Galesburg, IL to Chester Robert and Betty Jane Essex Vest.  She married Kevin W. Hymbaugh on September 8, 1990 in Las Vegas.  He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Colton Hymbaugh; sister, Tonya Lynn (Neal) Wemhoff; and nephew, Nick (Andrea) Costello.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Shanon worked for many years as a graphic designer at Bradley University.  She loved animals (especially her own), and spending time with her family.  She will be dearly missed.

Cremation has been accorded.  A memorial service will be held at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington at 4pm Friday, December 30, 2022.  Family will receive friends one hour before the service, from 3 to 4pm at the funeral home on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to TAPS No-Kill Animal Shelter in Pekin.
